If you cannot reach us, please dial the national dental accident emergency number: +49 (1805) 012800 (€0.14/min. from a landline, German mobile max. €0.42/min.) where trained and competent advisors are available around the clock to respond to your emergencies.

WHEN YOU HAVE A TOOTH ACCIDENT: KEEP CALM.

  • With severe bleeding: Gently bite on a piece of gauze or a clean handkerchief, hold a cold pack or cold compress to your cheek.
  • If a piece of your tooth has chipped off and you are bleeding from the tooth: take care to find and collect any chipped off tooth fragments, put them in a container with UHT milk or water and take them with you to your dental appointment.
  • If only a piece of your tooth has chipped off and you are NOT bleeding from the tooth: take care to find and collect any chipped off tooth fragments, put them in a container with UHT milk or water and take them with you to your dental appointment.
  • If the tooth is loose or partially dislodged: leave the tooth as it is, do not touch, and close your mouth slowly.
  • If the tooth is completely knocked out: only handle the tooth by the crown. DO NOT CLEAN the tooth, no matter how it looks! The root of the tooth is very sensitive and must not be touched. Where possible, store the tooth in a dental emergency container. These containers will be available at most sports facilities and swimming pools, and are also standard equipment on ambulances. If a dental emergency container is not available, place your tooth in a container with milk or where this is not possible, in water.
